Belize Update October 2021

October is here, and we’re ready for the new month ahead!There are a few updates we want to share with you. First, we have an update on our office staff.
Jennilee just had her second surgery, and I want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. She is still out for another month. She has to go back for radiation, and we’re praying for a speedy recovery. Angy is back in the office, and she’ll be catching up on work. We are glad she is feeling better.

It was a fantastic week in Placencia, talking and catching up with past and potential clients. I have been traveling to the United States to speak with others about investing in Belize, plus meetings in San Pedro for other real estate opportunities countrywide. Tropical Greetings from Belize!
A lot of exciting stuff has been going on in Belize lately, so I wanted to give a brief update on what’s going on in paradise.
Let’s get the COVID numbers out of the way... Belize is still doing an excellent job at keeping numbers low. At the time I wrote this newsletter, we have ONLY 52 active cases in the whole country. There are NO patients in the Belize COVID unit.

Copa Airlines - Yet another airline carrier to Belize

Starting December 8th, 2015 Copa Airlines will be offering 2 weekly flights to Belize City from Hub de la Americas Panama City where Copa airlines offers more international flights than any other airline with a center of operations on this continent. With this new addition, Copa Airlines will now expand its route to 75 cities and 31 countries in North, Central, South and the Caribbean with Belize being the 7th, in Central America.
Study shows that expats in Belize enjoy their life a great deal more

A research study conducted by “Best Places in the World to Retire” compiled data from almost 400 expats living in Belize, Nicaragua and Panama, who provided more than 14,700 answers and thousands of comments.
To a big surprise, or maybe not so big by now, Belize received the highest percentage of positive feedback with 73% saying that they enjoy their life far more in Belize. 78% would move abroad in a heartbeat, if they could to do it all over.

Many expats that live in Belize wonder about affordable health insurance. Belize has health centers in nearly every village, that is not an issue; but reliable health service or special care is only found in Belize City which depending on where you live is a few hours drive away.
Many expats that live with a long term health condition travel to near Mexico, or back to the USA for health service if money permits.

Belize was promoted in the Good Morning America show by Pauline Frommer as one of the top travel destinations for 2015. She described the country as having “glorious / pristine rainforests, gorgeous nature, incredible water sports… it’s definitely a family vacation”. Watch the clip after the break.
Tourism in Belize 2014 Statistics

“A lot of our industry partners have been telling us that… it’s one of the best slow seasons they’ve had. So now we’re heading into the high season and we’re really excited about that”. Alyssa Carnegie, Director of marketing & Industry Relations at the Belize Tourism Board during a press conference.
The increasing numbers on our tourist arrival statistics for this year makes it clear that the efforts to improve the industry have well paid off. A glance at the last few years Overnight, Airport and Cruise tourist arrivals show that 2014 has indeed been a very productive year. More and more people are getting interested to discover the wonders of this little but delightful country in the Caribbean.
