Ready for the latest Belize updates? You’ll meet the new owner of a Belize resort, learn traveling tips for sending your pets on a plane, COVID updates and more!
Mariposa Beach Resort and Restaurant
My team and I had the privilege to work with fellow public servant Lewis Blanchard. He just retired as a Deputy Sheriff in Georgia and is now the proud owner of Mariposa Beach Resort and Restaurant.
If you are coming to visit Placencia, stay at Mariposa and give Reservations the coupon code 'RE/MAX1' for a discount. Lewis will be a huge asset to Placencia, and we’re happy to have him here! Let’s give him a warm Belize welcome!
Join us for the next All Access Belize!
In our most recent Live Q&A All Access Belize Webinar, we talked with my friend Melanie Wilcher who has a business called Pets on a Jet. She helps people transport their animals mainly between the U.S. and Belize, but she also does work with other locations. Tune into our most recent webinar and learn all about Pets on a Jet, tips for sending your pet to Belize, how the CDC is banning animals from over 100 countries going to the United States, and much more! Stay tuned for next month’s All Access Belize! We’re looking forward to hearing from our special guest, Dr. Leslie from Hummingbird Health, as he talks about his plans for the south and all about medical care in Belize.
Best Time to Travel to Belize
September and October are some of the slowest months. It’s a great time to see Belize as these are typically the hottest and wettest months. I always tell people if you can handle the weather in these months, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE the weather the rest of the year.
Most of our clients come two times - during the peak season of December through May and then again in these slower months of September and October. Another good reason to come is the hotel rates are a bit lower, as well as airfare. I recently showed properties in Placencia and in San Pedro...can you believe how beautiful these sights are?! If you’re ready to travel or buy in Belize, now is the time!
Cheap flights to Belize & Airline Updates
Did you ever think you can fly to Belize for as low as $59 each way? I’ve never seen prices this low, even in September and October.
But look at these flights from Frontier Airlines...amazing!
As I mentioned a few weeks ago, Tropic will return to Cayo and Guatemala on November 15 which is exciting to have another option when traveling.
Make no mistake...Belize is open, but like most places in the world, there are a few added restrictions. Curfew is 9:00 p.m. countrywide.
While in government buildings, you need to have a negative covid test or proof of vaccination. You must provide proof of vaccination to get on the San Pedro Belize Express but not on the Ocean Ferry. In some restaurants, you have to provide proof of vaccination. We currently have over 2,000 active cases of COVID. Stay tuned to our newsletters because there are often updates every two weeks.
Fire Prevention Week
On another note, Fire Prevention Week was the first week of October. Now is always a great time to talk to your children about escape routes if your home catches on fire and be sure to have a set place to meet. No matter what you do, don’t go back in after you leave for any reason.
Take this time to check your smoke detectors. Every house should have at least ONE. If you are in the States reading this, when you change your clocks for daylight savings time, change your batteries in your smoke detector.
Boom in Belize Housing Market
Yahoo Finance shared an article about the BOOM in the Belize housing market, and RE/MAX LLC just announced globally that we have surpassed 140k agents around the world.
Here at 1st Choice Belize, we believe we have to treat your money better than how we treat our own money. This is one of the main reasons I spend so much time and money on education and mentorship. It’s vital that we surround ourselves with the right people to help elevate the asset management business. If you are looking to buy or sell in Belize, be sure to contact us. We’d love to help!
Until next time... stay safe!
