The retreat center has been designed to host transformational retreats and a space to expand consciousness within the mystical settings of the jungle. From transportation to accommodation, dietary needs, and more, the supportive team ensure a retreat experience in which you can feel fully attended.

In the heart of the property is a beautiful natural swimming pool fed by the fresh water creek where you can enjoy swimming, or enjoy a spa treatment, jungle hikes, healing elixirs, and meditative walks around the curated permaculture-based gardens.

Founded in 2014 by the Garofalo Family, Sattva has evolved to become a community owned and operated Retreat Center and co-living space that centers around permaculture ideals, mind-body-spirit connection, love of learning and thoughtful balance of work and play.  Because of our inter-generational team, Sattva has bloomed to include insights and wisdom from different ages, states of consciousness, and life experiences. 

 

SO WHAT’S INCLUDED?

·       As mentioned the total jungle village is made up of the 20 acre parcel, residential zones make up roughly 8 acres of the total property, with subdivided parcels ranging from .4 acres to 1.4 acres in size. The retreat business itself (Sattva Land Ltd.) owns the remaining 12 acres. the 8 acres has been subdivided into residential parcels leaving 12 acres as part of this offering plus the remaining vacant lot #7 that’s still for sale.

·       In the center of the property is a full Tesla Solar system that powers the entire village making it 100% off the grid when it comes to utilities. A Solar System with a 56 KW Storage Capacity, 50 Solar panels, and 3 Inverters makes up the electrical grid for the entire community.

·       Complete freshwater system pulled from the natural spring creek that runs through the property piped to all the buildings and lots.

·       Natural Spring swimming pool also functions in relationship to the year-round creek, as it is positioned adjacent to this flow of water. At its widest, the pool is roughly 24’ wide and 50’ long. As one of the main attractions on site, the natural pool is a refreshing oasis for residents and guests, as well as a haven for a diversity of wildlife that is attracted to it.

·       A small yet charming gift shop displays a unique array of local arts & crafts, including locally made soap, bug repellent, tote bags, and more! We are proud to showcase in-house creations made by community residents, like small-batch handmade chocolate, jewelry, and Visionary Art.

·       Restaurant / Café with commercial kitchen is a spacious, beautiful space where food is prepared for retreats and on-site guests. It is equipped with a wide array of stainless steel appliances such as a 36” commercial blodgett oven, commercial stove with 6 large burners, hood fan, 2 sinks, and a dishwasher. The kitchen also includes several large stainless steel prep tables and storage racks, and is equipped with 2 refrigerators, 1 stand-up freezer, and a large pantry.

·       Adjacent to the commercial kitchen is a laundry room, a storage room for linens, and 2 bathrooms.

·       Yoga/Wellness center “The Bianhua” is an impressive 2 story building with a total of 3200 square feet divided into upper indoor space of 1600 sqft used for yoga, dance, fitness, music events, and more. Beautiful, local hardwood floors offer ease on the feet and knees while 270 degrees of windows offer unobstructed views of the surrounding jungle. The space is equipped with dimmable pendant lighting, a commercial sound system with a mixer, yoga mats, blankets, and bolsters for 20 people, comfortable lounging.

Garden House

Nested in the middle of the agroforestry system, this beautiful hardwood structure offers a perfect balance of comfort & proximity to the main program spaces. The garden house, which can accommodate a total of 8 people, includes 1 spacious room with a Queen-size bed, and 3 smaller rooms, each with 2 twin-size beds. There is an additional 8’x 8’ room that can be used for storage, a cozy reading space, or a potential indoor bathroom. A vast open-space hallway allows a cooling breeze to blow through and connects all the rooms to a shared center. Two opposing, hardwood double-door entrances open the home to our forest gardens and are a great spot for bird admirers. The rooms are well ventilated by large windows and ceiling fans and have tall hardwood ceilings. The Garden House bathrooms are located nearby in a separate building, which contains 2 Vietnamese-style composting toilets and 3 beautiful open-air outdoor showers.

Additionally, the Garden House complex also has a fully equipped, screened-in kitchen that includes a full-size refrigerator, stove & oven, and other small kitchen appliances. This outdoor kitchen serves the Garden House and other on-site guests who do not have access to a private kitchen in their accommodation.

The Shala Cabins

The Shala Cabins are a set of 3 adjacent units that can accommodate anywhere from 6 to 9 people. Considered our part of our luxurious accommodations on site, these private cabins are spacious and elegant. One unit is a full studio, with a king-size bed, full bathroom, indoor lounging area, and a fully equipped kitchen. The remaining two units are identical, each offering a queen-size bed, hardwood sofa / day bed, hardwood armoire, and full bathroom. The large windows in all of these units are the perfect complement to the lush surroundings of this quiet corner of the property. For large retreat groups, the bed configuration can be rearanged from 2 queen beds 3 twin-size beds, allowing for increased capacity of these units.
